Justin Stepnell is a Technical Assistant at the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) at Monash University, Clayton, Melbourne. Mr Stepnell has contributed to eight internationally recognised publications and developed skills and expertise that spans several critical scientific fields, including antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobials and mosquitoes. Justin completed Honours in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology at the University of Adelaide. He then completed a Master of Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology at the University of Melbourne where he studied the virulence of community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). As part of the World Mosquito Program at Monash for eight years, Mr Stepnell conducted research on the fitness and vector competence phenotypes of novel Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. During this time, he held multiple roles ranging from project manager to laboratory technician.​ At ARMI Justin is a valued member of the Scientific Services team where he coordinates and manages the ARMI Central Store, offering technical assistance and expert advice to students and researchers to support safe and effective laboratory operations.
