The Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC) serves as a specialised hub providing advanced preclinical services to support the development and commercialisation of pharmaceutical products.

A part of Monash University’s research infrastructure, the facility offers a broad range of technical expertise, including formulation development, analytical testing and biological therapeutics. MMIC’s work encompasses diverse delivery methods such as oral, inhaled, and topical systems, focusing on solving complex stability and solubility challenges for small and large molecules.

Users benefit from a commercial-facing model where they retain their own intellectual property while accessing high-level consultancy and scale-up support. The centre also participates in funding programs like the Therapeutics Innovation Australia Pipeline Accelerator which helps Australian-based applicants subsidise their research costs.

MMIC aims to bridge the gap between discovery and development toward large-scale industrial manufacturing. This platform exceeds the standards specified and required by the relevant regulatory bodies.
