Meet Molly Man and Brenda Miranda: ARMI’s Newest Social Media Ambassadors
At the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI), we’re excited to welcome our newest social media ambassadors, Ruize Man (Molly) from the Roman lab and Brenda Briones Miranda from the Lieschke lab who are set to bring a fresh perspective to how we share our research with the public.
Our Social Media Ambassador Program has been instrumental in bridging the gap between complex scientific research and public understanding. As we welcome our new ambassadors, we’d like to share their stories and invite you to get to know them better.

Molly Man: Unravelling How Muscles Self-repair
Molly Man, a PhD student in the Roman Group, is unraveling the mysteries of skeletal muscle regeneration. Her research focuses on understanding how muscles repair themselves after injury, with potential implications for conditions like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
“I’m fascinated by how muscles can self-repair,” Molly explains. “My work explores the intricate genetic mechanisms that drive muscle regeneration, using cutting-edge techniques like optogenetics and spatial transcriptomics to understand these complex processes.”
Brenda Miranda: Exploring Genetic Mutations in Blood Cells
Brenda Miranda, working in the Lieschke Group, investigates the fascinating world of hematopoietic stem cells. These stem cells are found in the bone marrow and can become all types of blood cells. Her research delves into how genetic mutations lead to clonal hematopoiesis – or the rapid expansion of a cell and increase risk of conditions like blood cancer or cardiovascular diseases.

“Science is about curiosity, creativity, and resilience,” Brenda shares. “With critical thinking we can push the boundaries of knowledge and unravel the world of science one discovery at a time.”
A Shared Passion for Science Communication
Both Molly and Brenda bring unique perspectives to ARMI’s Social Media Ambassador Program. They’re not just researchers – they’re storytellers committed to making complex scientific concepts accessible and exciting to the public.
“Social media allows us to break down barriers,” Molly notes. “We can show people that science isn’t just about lab coats and microscopes – it’s about curiosity, discovery, and solving real-world challenges.”
Brenda echoes this sentiment: “Our goal is to inspire the next generation of scientists by showing the human side of research – the passion, the challenges, and the incredible potential of regenerative medicine.”
Stay tuned as Molly and Brenda take you behind the scenes of the exciting research at ARMI, making science not just understandable, but truly inspiring.
