ARMI is committed to ethical and responsible conduct of research.

For us, ethical conduct in human research and research using animals begins with the values and principles set out by the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (2018), the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2025) and the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes (updated 2021).

Stem cell research is a key part of our research program. Accordingly, we also follow the International Society for Stem Cell Research’s Guidelines for Stem Cell Research and Clinical Translation (2025). The guidelines reinforce the need for informed consent for the collection of human material and participation in stem cell clinical trials, and reiterate that no new stem cell treatment should be made available before it is tested for safety and effectiveness in well-designed and publicly visible clinical trials.

In addition, we support Monash University’s Ethics Statement.
