Pluripotent Stem Cell Approaches to Mitigate Degenerative Joint Disease

Bio

April Craft received her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where she engineered non-toxic viral vectors in the gene therapy-based lab of Dr. Joseph Glorioso. In Dr. Gordon Keller’s lab at the McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine in Toronto, Dr. Craft initiated a successful cartilage research program as a post-doctoral fellow. She then joined the faculty of Harvard Medical School in 2014 as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic surgery and Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine, and was appointed Co-Director of Musculoskeletal Disease Program at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute in 2019 when it was incepted. Her lab at Boston Children’s Hospital continues to work on cartilage and joint tissue development and regenerative medicine based approaches to treat disease.
