Dr. Jones-Freeman obtained her BSC (Hons) from the University of Ulster, United Kingdom, and commenced her professional journey with a rewarding stint at GlaxoSmithKline in Stevenage, United Kingdom. Subsequently, she pursued training at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College, London, before culminating her academic pursuits with a PhD in Immunology and Microbiology at The University of Newcastle, Australia.

Throughout her academic journey, Dr. Jones-Freeman has honed her focus on the epigenetic regulation of immunology, a theme she has applied with great success to diverse areas, including prostate cancer, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In recent and ongoing research, her attention has shifted towards mucosal immunology, exploring its pivotal role in the development, repair, and regeneration of respiratory and urinary tract tissues, including conditions like urinary tract diseases and kidney stones.

Currently positioned as a lab manager and research fellow in Nir Eynon’s group at the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI), Monash University, Dr. Jones-Freeman is an early career researcher with expertise in immunology and regenerative medicine and is engaged in collaborative efforts within the Eynon Group, contributing to investigations into epigenetics and other molecules associated with healthy aging and exercise.
